Though I’m not sure for how long, since a friend has said they’ve already put up signage for a different Dew flavor. Purple Thunder, as I mentioned, is exclusive to Circle-K. I’m definitely going to enjoy this one this morning and savor the rest over the next couple weeks. It’s very refreshing and definitely a soda to sit and sip over an afternoon. But yeah, take something that you know is a mixed berry flavor and then add that plum on top. Not a super sharp, acidic flavor like a lot of Dews, probably because it’s berry and not citrus. To me, Purple Thunder tastes like Voltage with a mild bitterness. As for the flavor, *sip* I remember my first taste of this back a month ago and being like, “Ooooh, this is good,” so I’ve been looking forward to trying it again. Much like what you’d expect from a soda claiming to be as such. Taking a whiff, the smell of the soda is very berry-y. So, it’s closer to Voltage than to Pitch Black. It’s definitely purple, though more towards the blue end of things. Yeah, having been in a clear bottle, and, y’know, the name, it kinda lets us know what we’re getting ahead of time. So, it’s time to finally give this one an official taste test.īut, of course, before I can get to the tasting, I need to get to the pour. Lean, also called Purple Drank, is a beverage concocted of cough syrup and. And that’s the only point where we’d seen them. A friend saw them once, but wasn’t able to get me one at the time. I have Circle-Ks near me and both my friends and I were on the lookout for said bottles. It was available both in at the soda fountain and in bottles… well… supposedly in bottles. You see, it was released exclusively to Circle-K stores (strange things were afoot), much like how Baja Blast is exclusive to Taco Bell (though we all know that hits regular store shelves occasionally).
